Meet Sonic Founder, Speaker, Executive Recruiter and Business Coach Oliver Baezner

Oliver is the Founder of Sonic Breakthrough Coaching and as a business and executive coach he has spent over 30 years in leadership and management roles with some of Canada’s largest corporations including Energizer and Shoppers Drug Mart. He’s also the former Vice-President of Sales and Marketing of Canada’s largest publicly owned craft brewery, Big Rock Brewery.

Oliver has worked with a variety of well-known clients, including an NHL Hockey Team, as well as executives, business owners and their teams in dozens of industries. He is also a Managing Partner with Alto Partners Global, specializing in executive search and a certified chair for MacKay CEO Forums, where he helps some of Calgary’s top CEOs accelerate their performance through peer learning.

In addition to his extensive coaching and leadership development work, Oliver is the co-founder of 100 Men Who Give A Damn, a Calgary organization of community-minded men who raise money for local charities, which has now grown to over 51 chapters of men and 92 chapters of people, men, and kids across North America, with an impact of over $10 Million raised for local community charities.

While he can often be seen wearing a suit and tie, people close to him know that he’s really somewhat of a free spirit who feels most at home in nature. In his free time Oliver enjoys camping, mountain biking and spending time with his daughter.

Tia Callaway

Tia is Sonic’s “meticulous” and personable Client Manager. Her high attention to detail and trustworthy demeanor helps her ensure everything runs smoothly. She is the “co-pilot” that understands the importance of exceeding every client’s needs.

Tia is currently working to obtain her HR designation and her Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Psychology.

Originally from British Columbia, she has called Calgary home since 2005. She has over 12 years management experience, as a recruitment specialist, training and development expert, and performing business turnaround. Tia’s strong leadership modelling honesty and integrity have seen her the recipient of several industry awards throughout her career.

When she is not in the office Tia enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 children and their pets. She is an avid reader, gardener and loves playing board games with family and friends.

Marnie Griffiths

Marnie is Sonic’s Administrative Assistant and scheduling Ninja. Marnie’s values of providing support, organization, and excellent client care align well with her role. Her positive attitude and solid work ethic will ensure she takes care of your needs while always having time for a laugh.

With over 25 years of experience Marnie has had the opportunity to hone her administrative management mastery in a multitude of arenas from solopreneurs and small-medium business owners to municipalities and corporate environments.

Marnie is also a Jikiden Reiki practitioner, facilitates women’s workshops and creates inspirational card decks. When not spending time with her husband Ryan and their furry feline Ruth, Marnie loves to be on or near the water, practicing yoga and taking walks in the trees, always with a musical soundtrack.
